I've experimented with a range of different platforms, and believe WIX is a great option if you are looking for a way to create, design, and launch your site yourself. I use WIX and recommend it to those wanting to DIY your website design.

Wix provide a wide range of materials to help you, and they have a support team available for assistance as well. Their Getting Started information is a great place to start.

You can begin by creating a free account to get a feel for the templates you can select, and see how easy you find them to edit. Although you can publish a free site when you're ready, I recommend upgrading to a premium plan (paid hosting) so that you can remove any Wix ads, and link to a custom domain. The plan pricing will vary depending on the functionality you need,

I recommend using GoDaddy for domain purchases, but there are options to secure domain names through Wix as well. You can get one free Wix domain with your premium plan.

It is also a good idea to set up a professional business email e.g. info@yoursite.com when you are launching your site and this can be done after securing your domain. Wix make it easy to set this up via Google and costs vary depending on set up requirements.

Although WIX is very user friendly, like learning any new system it can take a while to work out how to set up and manage your site, and not everyone has the time, patience, or desire, to spend hundreds of hours learning how to do everything themselves,

If you look into WIX and decide you'd like help getting your site up and running we may be able to assist. You can review our website design services and get in touch to discuss your project. One of the benefits of using WIX, is that you retain 100% ownership of your site, and full-control over all future editing.

If you want to review some other options for designing your own site, other well-known platforms include; Weebly, GoDaddy, Wordpress, Squarespace, and Shopify.
